Much like the great Shoshone Chief Washakie, the University of Wyoming Washakie Center honors its past while striving for innovation. The "Battle of Two Hearts" sculpture by Dave McGary, south of the complex that bears Chief Washakie's name, is a towering bronze pays silent tribute to a man revered for his skills as a warrior, peacemaker, visionary and champion of education for his people.
